Doing so further validates the presumption that the federal government has the right to decide who gets to exercise their constitutionally protected rights and how they exercise those rights.

This is why I don't send money to so-called Second Amendment lobbying organizations. I haven't found one that truly believes that the Second Amendment protects the right to keep and bear arms and that the right to keep and bear arms is a natural right of an individual.

It would be counterproductive for them to believe such a thing. They need the never-ending threat to survive.

I understand they're going for the low hanging fruit and trying to get the minimum age reduced, but the whole thing seems silly to me. Why create another arbitrary minimum age? Doing so further validates the presumption that the federal government has the right to decide who gets to exercise their constitutionally protected rights and how they exercise those rights. The entire FFL system is based on the idea that someone requires permission from the federal government in order to exercise a natural right. The more we play into this, the more harm we do to the cause of Liberty.

Dam Right...a box of crayons and a Glock for every Kindergartener. :uhh::uhh::uhh::uhh:

Keltec then LOL!

Hi-point: the firearm choice of thug-lives and 5 year olds the world over.

Seriously though, we've got to turn back the tide of government playing parent sometime. Taking away the need for personal responsibility breeds irresponsibility.

Was there epidemic with children obtaining handguns and committing violent crimes prior to the government putting its foot down in '68?

I still remember the day I could drink beer in a bar at 18, got drafted into the military at 19, but couldn't vote for the bastards that sent me to war untill 21 years of age.

I was in a muddy foxhole reading army times when I found out it was dropped to 18, and I've never missed an election from that day.

Don't give up on 18 year olds.
