In the 1960's, kids on my block and in my school always heard about getting sent to "Vinita". We assumed it was the location of a huge state asylum for the insane. Later heard leatherface (from Texas Chainsaw Massacre) was locked up there. Think it's called Oklahoma Forensics Center, now. Which reminds me of a current news story about 700+ rape kits sitting on the shelf all over Oklahoma, years old. What do suppose Oklahoma Forensic Center does all day?

Seen this coming,...wait till some wife or any family member gets a beef with someone. We all know how bad family fights can get. Look at that Police Chiefs daughter,.....think she wouldn't ..."try and stop another police killing"....by turning her dad in?....Wait, till someone is really mentally ill, and it triggers them.

How about "red flag laws when political hacks lie "....they are yanked out of office.....till they cool down or can pass a USC test or civics test... Like we use to have in school.

Voting these hacks out when the words first pass their lips is the sure cure.

There is no doubt in my mind these will be used in a vengeful and spiteful way and there WILL be some false accusations - not a single one of which can be 'disproven'. How do you prove a negative? False rape claims, as rare as they may be, at least can be fought... a false 'threat' claim is absolutely and totally indefensible.

There is always the old stand-by of getting a protective order(though it's mostly constitutional). I guess that makes three.

I heard on the Radio today that rape kits in Oklahoma can now be electronically tracked by the victim with some new legislation that was passed. Let’s hope this speeds up the process.

LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — Larimer County Sheriff Justin Smith said he will not serve a red flag petition filed by Susan Holmes against a Colorado State University police officer involved in the 2017 fatal shooting of her son.

Smith called Holmes' filing against CSU police Cpl. Philip Morris "a fraud" in a Wednesday morning Facebook post.
Holmes filed the petition, also called an extreme risk protection order, in Larimer County court on Jan. 9 under Colorado's new red flag law. The law has been invoked a handful of times statewide since it took effect Jan. 1, according to multiple news reports, including in Larimer County.

The red flag law allows law enforcement, a family member or household resident to petition to have a person's firearms removed if they are deemed by a judge to be a threat to themselves or others.

Holmes is none of those things to Morris.

I strongly support every abuse of these red flag laws, as it proves what a terrible idea they were in the first place. I hope every pol who voted for them gets red flagged in the near future. They deserve it!
