How do you answer the new question showing up on medical information forms for your doctor visit. I was told the new form was due to requirements of Obama care. The question I saw was "do you have any guns in your home."
The VA docs are asking, I tell ask them if home includes my tent in Afghanistan.
As a doctor, I would tell you to say "how does this pertain to my visit today?"
I wouldn't answer it personally.

I left that blank when I found my new doctor. They asked me about it, and I told them I may or may not own guns, but that has nothing to do with the reasoning I was there to see the doctor and I would not fill that information out.
It wasn't on the form at my regular doc's office, and it wasn't in the packet(!) I had to fill out for the ENT doc last week. The audiologist did ask if I'd been exposed to any loud sounds, like gunfire, but I told her I used hearing protection when shooting--but that was at least relevant to the visit. It also wasn't on the ophthalmologist's form I filled out back in January.
Florida passed legislation a few years ago that prevented doctors from asking the question, and it's currently working its way through the courts.
