Yesterday, my Grandpa gave me this rifle he brought back from the war. It is a Type 99 7.7mm Jap. He said he picked it up in the Navy shipyards in San Diego on his way home from Guam. He said it was propped up in a corner with a Jap officer's sword... they sat there for a while and nobody came to get them, so he figured they were fair game! My grandpa filed down the firing pin on it back in the 40s, to make it a wall hanger I guess. Numrich has original firing pins in stock, and I just ordered one. :D. It will be awesome to put the first round in at least 67 years through this old girl! I just stripped and cleaned her last night. Here are some pics of the rifle and sword:

Here you go.

That is a nice mas. Looks unissued.... Perhaps it came with a white flag....

JK. looks to be a post war rifle. Nice collection btw.

1899 dated M1892 Steyr-Mannlicher 6.5x53 Romainian caliber with Romainian Crown on top of the receiver and the right side of the stock.
You don't see one of these very often.

I,at one time had more milsurps than that. But i sold off a ton in 2007.

show off! man i wish i would have snatched up all the milsurps at pawn shops when they could barely give em away. when we (flatwins) and i were kids, i never really looked at those old tarnished things. he was prolly more appreciative of the classics than i was. here's to the days of $75 enfields and mausers:thumb:

Here's one of my M44's, it's gotta be one of the ugliest guns I've owned, but it sure is fun to shoot. It has someones initials carved into the hand guard and there's a nail driven into and bent over in the side of the stock. No telling what this thing has seen.
