Yesterday, my Grandpa gave me this rifle he brought back from the war. It is a Type 99 7.7mm Jap. He said he picked it up in the Navy shipyards in San Diego on his way home from Guam. He said it was propped up in a corner with a Jap officer's sword... they sat there for a while and nobody came to get them, so he figured they were fair game! My grandpa filed down the firing pin on it back in the 40s, to make it a wall hanger I guess. Numrich has original firing pins in stock, and I just ordered one. . It will be awesome to put the first round in at least 67 years through this old girl! I just stripped and cleaned her last night. Here are some pics of the rifle and sword:
