I just rattle canned an M-14 I used to have. It turned out great. Not a very durable finish, but the wearing and scratching just make the camo more effective and give it a nice well-worn look.

Yeah, I'm a fan of "used" guns. If I have paint chips and scratches, I earned those. Thinking about just dusting it in FDE like I did my 18" AR. Do you have any pics of your M-14? Here's the 18" AR I did:
