Well guys, I hope you are happy. This thread broke me and I cancelled my membership. I have nothing to gain from these forums anymore.

Well, owning everything from Glocks to Wilson Combats, Rugers to original Pythons and Freedom Arms...my opinion on overrated is that there are a lot of guns out there that many guys won't buy for the prices they demand. I don't trust my life to a $3K+ handgun more than I do a $500 one (as my HD, truck, and carry pistols are all S&W M&Ps). But if you are after refinement, then you will be forking out a lot for what many consider to be diminishing returns. It takes a lot of time though to get to that last 10%, and that is going to cost you.
That being said; there are still a lot of models out there that are simply priced because some guys in a board room figured that they could get $XXXX out of it. Frequently, the beauty of capitalism though is that the market and demand will determine whether those board room guys were right or not. If you consider something overrated, but it sells like hotcakes...you're in the minority opinion. If you watch sales slump and prices drop...you are of the majority opinion.
The only anomaly to all of this that I'm aware of is the civilian markups that military suppliers place when they release a clone to the public. The military collector segment is pretty bonkers. It even affects the OEM clone correct parts for this segment.
