Here's hoping I helped save one from that same fate tonight. 8 months old, multiple broken bones in various stages of healing... we got her out of the house for now. The rest is up to DHS.

Pray for her...

Fiddler was arrested on April 7 in Washington County on a misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. She pleaded guilty on Aug. 16 and was sentenced to a one-year suspended sentence and drug and alcohol evaluations, which included random drug tests.

This sounded like a meth moment. I had a buddy I went to HS with. He killed a 2 yr old (allegedly) about 10 yrs ago .There were bite marks all over the baby. He maintained his innocence while he was in jail. Another friend was representing him . The lawyer friend told him the courts wanted to check his dental imprints to see if they matched the bites on the baby. He pulled all of his teeth out in the jail cell that night. He was messing around with a bunch of carnies and doing meth when all of this happened.

Knowing the guy from school I was behind his story and so were a lot of others that knew him . I couldnt believe what I heard about the teeth pulling episode. Nobody believed that he was innocent after that.

I have no doubt in my mind whatsoever that if many of these drugs were legalized, this would become a much more frequent headline. :(

I think you are right. For some reason a lot of people seem to equate "legal" with "safe" and/or "smart" ...

Kinda along the lines of if one pill helps maybe 4 pills will cure me ... :ugh2:

Newsflash! Druggies are gonna get their drugs no matter if we make/keep them illegal or not.

It's not the drug or the gun. Its the person.

Stop making excuses for these lowlifes. They dont deserve to have a cop out even if its drugs.

See, in the old days before all our modern "Law and Justice" her family would have said "You are bat feces crazy." and would have taken her kids from her. Now days, if they do that, they are charged with kidnapping, the kids are returned to her, and she gets a big welfare check for them, just in time for her to sell to get her next meth hit so she can neglect the kids and put them in a washing machine.

I agree that the person is the problem. But I also believe there are a LOT of people 'on the edge' so to speak, who stay with the legal prescription dope for the most part now and try to stay on the right side of the law... Not by conscience but fear of punishment.

If you legalize drugs (marijuana will just be the first...) then many of them will jump into the sewer headlong. I've seen too many of these type... Hell I treat 'em every day I work in the ER. Tons of 'em.

Sure, many of these drugs are fine in strict moderation by responsible hard-working adults... But if your goal is to kill off 1/3 or 1/2 of a generation, legalizing drugs is one helluva great way to do it.
