I'd bet there're a number of retailers who 'claim' they're collecting tax to send to your state, but don't. Nice way to pad a little 8-9% profit margin. Of course, if they get caught, they're in trouble, but who's really policing that? Someone from OK auditing sales records from a company in AZ or FL? I don't think so...

I don't know how all states do it, but they bill that crap by the county, and quite possibly city, in Kansas. Since anyone that does collect, collects my county's rate. I live in one of those towns of less than 100, so there ain't no city. SG is the last holdout that doesn't charge tax yet, and that's one of the reasons they're getting pretty much all my ammo business at the moment.

I wouldn't want to get caught on a deal like that. My business has to collect in Kansas, and it's absolutely asinine since I'm a service business. I keep my nose as absolutely clean as possible since I operate heavily in two states. There was a guy early in my career that got busted not charging it, and it wasn't a pleasant experience for him.

Back before the internet and hand held computers, Natchez and Graf & sons were two of the big players in the reloading and supply business. It was nice to call and talk to a person that recognized your name. Service was more personal. I kinda miss those days...

I used to really like doing business with "Lock, Stock & Barrel" but they went belly up back in about 2010 and sold their customer list to Midway......seems like they would always bend over backwards to be helpful.

Recognizing the fact that I'm still on the younger end of the spectrum, I was buying stuff from Natchez while still deployed and having it delivered to my folks' house. I couldn't remember now what, but there had been some issues with one of my orders, and when I figured it out, I called them right away and they were very nice to deal with and got me straightened out in short order. It's got to be difficult in the current marketplace. Same thing with my business supplies. I buy from a company out of Amarillo, and while I could order online, I always call and speak to a real person to make orders. It's nice that even though they sell a heap of stuff all over the place that they know who they're talking to when you call.

Gotta make their profit one way or the other! LOL.
Yeah, but their whole year's profit on one order? :-)

I've seen a bunch of sales from them on ammo that I was ready to jump all over right up until I got to the shipping part. I can understand having to charge for shipping and I know that "free shipping" isn't actually free, but pretty much every time I was able to find a better deal somewhere else when you took into account their shipping charges. H8ll, sometimes it would turn out to be cheaper for me to go to Academy and buy the same thing and I'd have it that day.

I wondered the same. Apparently there is a system in place to track this.

I do just want to let everyone know, I DID make an order with Natchez yesterday - shipping and all, they were still cheaper than Midway to buy some 147-grain Hornady ELD-M projectiles. So I ordered a couple hundred to go with some Gunwerks brass I have on the way, as well.

As a home based FFL there is absolutely no way I can compete with Primary Arms and the like . . . . so I don't even try. I'll pay for a domain and use it as a placeholder or something if I ever decide to dump a bunch of money into the business. Thankfully I don't have to depend on this as a source of income. But it's does help fund my firearms hobby.

Natchez is like the rest of them with the spam. My experience is no one spams like PSA. I have bought some stuff from them and their prices are normally cheaper but their shipping is a killer for sure also their stock is hit or miss. You gotta make sure your getting $5 shipping or free hazmat usually to make it much cheaper than Midway, Brownells, Midsouth and the like if they have free ship or free ship and $10 off coupons. You can priceshop yourself to death after a while. I have my preferred vendor and its not Natchez.

@Cowcatcher is right certain vendors you can sign back up for spam when you want something toss it in your cart and let it sit a a couple days and the free ship coupons and discounts will start rolling in to try and get your to buy.
