Did a 6'er on the USS Briscoe DD977 and the USS Thomas S Gates CG51. Airdet on both. Never got sea sick but most did when we hit a storm after leaving the Red Sea back into the Med. That was the only time I never had to wait in line for chow and the only time they would give you as much as you wanted.
Spent my time in the Navy, but never set foot on a ship. In the SeaBees. We tried to get them to let us on a ship out in San Francisco one summer just to look around, but no luck. I dont think I would have cared for the big waves though.
Worst I ever saw was 35' swells in the Gulf of Alaska during the winter of '93 on the USS Cushing (DD-985). There were footprints on the bulkheads and the mission lasted 31 days. M I S E R Y.
Oh and Hump66, that second picture made me throw up a little in my mouf.
