So I've been following this one a bit as we have a house there and what not. The man landowner we hunt on is a State Senator also, and he posted this today which I liked to see.
I've never talked to him about 2A stuff but him being a hunter also I had my assumptions...but never knew for sure.

My office and I have been hearing from a lot of folks in the 41st district about LB58, the so-called "red flag" bill. I have a number of concerns about the bill, and I simply do not believe that the risks outweigh any potential benefits. Suicide prevention is very important to me, and I have supported legislation to put farmers, veterans, and anyone else at high risk of suicide in touch with resources to get them the help that they need. I also have always supported bills to support domestic abuse survivors and to strengthen penalties for offenders.

However, we live in a country with a robust set of protections guaranteed to us constitutionally. Not only does the US Constitution guarantee the right to keep and bear arms, but the Constitution also guarantees us the right to due process under the law, the right to confront an accuser, the right to be free of unreasonable search and seizure. Our Nebraska State Constitution also says in Article 1: "All persons are by nature free and independent, and have certain inherent and inalienable rights; among these are life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and the right to keep and bear arms for security or defense of self, family, home, and others, and for lawful common defense, hunting, recreational use, and all other lawful purposes, and such rights shall not be denied or infringed by the state or any subdivision thereof."

LB58 would represent infringements against each of the above constitutionally guaranteed rights, and I do not believe that enough consideration of those rights was given when this bill was conceived and written. I have also heard from Law Enforcement Officers in the 41st district who are concerned that this bill would cost the lives of their colleagues, as well as potentially the lives of innocent Nebraskans falsely accused. It is for all of these reasons that I will not be supporting LB58, or any other similar legislation.

And in response to someone else saying they were for the Red Flag law..

"Thank you for your question. The accused would not have ever set foot in court, and nothing would be demonstrated, when the confiscation would occur. The problem is that the bill would implement punishment (confiscation of private property) before due process of the law, before the accused would have the opportunity to confront his or her accuser, and a law enforcement agency without the space to store the firearms could destroy them, or an agency could accidentally damage them, and the accused would have no recourse to claim damages or restitution once found innocent. The protections against abuse of this proposed law by making false accusations are also extremely weak. There is a significant potential for abuse by folks looking to settle a grudge or even pull a prank."

Get the guns first, due process later.
