Does this fireplace supposed to automatically start up? Or do you manually set the temp at the fireplace and push the pizo lighter? Mine is manual and you have to push in on the knob to start and keep the gas flowing until the thermocoupler heats up. Also, had to use one of those long lighters to light it up. Those pizo lighters suck.

Get some more info up. Hate to see money wasted on a service call for a very simple problem like it sounds like you are having.

It is suppose to automatically start up with a a flick of a switch. The switch looks just like a light switch on the wall next to the fireplace.

Sounds to me like the thermal couple that senses the flame has went out. It is the little thing that tells the controller to release the gas that the pilot flame is on and ready to go.
