That what this will do, It will make a Violation a fine instead of a felony and loss of permit. Baby steps here, It is pre-emptive for future legisaltion which will include CCW on college campuses.

The other issue with the gun buster is, There is suppose to be only one sign, but the AG office has been un willing to say that if someone violates a non AG sign that they will not be prosecuted. Also the AG office have thus far been un willing to define where the signs need to be placed. A number of KSCCW member have passed signs that where blocked from view or placed places like 12 feet above an entry door for example. Or there would be only one sign on an entire building, with 10 entrances to the building.

Glad to hear that this is the effect if the legislation is passed/signed into law. It seems that a lot of places put those signs up at the urging of the local constabulary to the point of being ridiculous. With a few years of concealed carry being in effect and none of the blood in the streets predictions coming true, Kansas should be ready to move to a more normal frame of mind.
