Just got it to my driveway and soon into the garage. 1968 Ford F100 Ranger

Lots of surface rust but nothing bad or deep. Hopefully I'll get to have it running and driving before Winter.

fix the surface rust and repaint it. If I can get the original paint matched and mixed I'll do that, otherwise going for a nice Satin Black low gloss.

From there original idea was a 390 with a c6 mild build into the 390. But I may have an amazing deal lined out on a 460 instead.

It has the 300 straight 6 right now not running.

I might change the gears in the rear but have no idea yet what ones are under it.

My buddy has a running 1980 something one ton van with a 460. He doesn't drive it much, and wants to get rid of it. I put a water pump on it for him a few years back.

I might find out what he wants - I am sure there are a few things I could steal and use from it - but wouldn't have anywhere to put the van right now

I'll call him right now. It might have other useful goodies, like a bigger rear diff, newer springs (bet those 1968 ones are saggin' a bit), lots of good, thick sheet metal to do body repair, and so on.
