I have put 1000's of rounds under both P-223 scopes. I think if you really won't be shooting past 100 yards the 3X Carbine scope would serve your needs well. That being said, take a look at Nikon's M-223 1-4 Point Blank Reticle. One of my favorite scopes and one I used in carbine competition's until I tried the compact 3X scope. Zero the 1-4 at 100 yards and you are ready to go. Very clear low profile scope for not much more money then the P-223 3-9 I believe. If you do opt for the P-223 3X carbine scope you will need a 2 piece mount, check out Nikon's P-Series 2 piece AR mount, perfect for this compact optic. Will also work well with a full size scope too. If you want to punch small groups at 100 yards go for the 3-9, if you're going to shoot reactive target's check out the 3X or M-223 1-4. I hope this helps and doesn't just throw another scope in the mix?

yukon ok
That is ok IndVet..all is forgiven.

But i have seen some people at the range think that the AO was for focus..And the focus ring on the scope cranked down tight where without tools you could not turn it!!
I have been contemplating a .223 for my stash.
Looks to be much cheaper to reload for than my other bigger rifles.

I did this in a larue 1.5 mount on a 6920 and like it alot. I wear glasses so I like the fact that without them I can still see who's who @ 100m without my glasses on @ 4x and make positive hits at close range with both eyes open at 25m @ 1x. The turrets are very user friendly as well.
