Why is it when people argue about tire brands and spout off mileage numbers they fail to mention the load rating of the tire? I run a load range "E" tire on my 1500 Chevy Z71 that never pulls a trailer and usually get 60,000 out of the Terra Grappler or BFG A/T, I've tried both. As you know, the 1500 came with a lighter tire and rides stiffer with the "E" rated shoes.

My 2500 Dodge Mega came with a BFG tire from the factory that lasted 40,000. They've were replaced with the BFG A/T KO in a larger size and should go 50-60,000 miles. I would imagine that most of the guys in this thread are using a lighter, load range "D" tire and never pull a trailer or load them up heavy. Point being, you need to consider more than the brand of tire or what the punk kid at Hibdon thinks you're shocks look like.

I have Cooper STT's, they are Awesome mud and snow tires, I've only gotten about 35k out of them but I live on 4 miles of gravel roads too. If you want a good mud tire you mi ghost t look at them, there American made too.

I wont ever tow anything so I skipped the 10ply/E style tires, plus I dont want the harsher ride either.

Actually I like the softer ride the Nitto's are giving me over the Faulken so far, though it seems my TPMS sensors may have been damaged as they are not registering correctly now.

mounted on my 2007 jeep wrangler, even with their size they balance very well & ride smooth up to 85mph. a very good mix of offroad/onroad performance imo. make sure you use silicone on the beadlock install, the inside rim of the grapplers have diagonal ridges that can make a dry beadlock leak pretty bad. holds air no problem up to 50psi with silicone. massive traction both on & off road, they put a lot of rubber on the ground.

ps.. try to avoid puddles if you're running 325/70.. they'll damn near throw you off the road if you're going too fast.

I run Nitto's on everything.

Got 64K out of a set of Terra Grap 33's on a 2010 mega cab dodge diesel

Got 58k out of a set of Terra Grap 33's on a 2001 Chevy 4x4 ext cab 1/2 ton

Had an 07 FJ lifted that we put a set of 35" Terra Graps on that had 12K on when we sold it and they were still like new

Currently have an 09 Chevy 1/2 ton 4x4 with 33" Trail Grapplers on with 15k that are still like new

Also currently have a 2009 F150 Ext cab 1/2 ton 4x4 with a set of 37" Trail Grapplers with 30k on them that still have better than half tread..

We keep them rotated every other oil change

My truck's stock tires are LT315-70-17 BFG AT KO's. The tires appear to be wearing well with regular rotations. They do well on pavement and excellent offload. The bad part is that they absolutely suck on wet pavement. This is most likely due to the large tread lugs and maybe the compound. Personally I think I'm going to go with Goodyear Duratracs when my stock BFG's are done. Better wet traction on pavement while still being a good AT tire. Not to mention the Duratracs are actually snow rated and can accept studs. For the record, I rotate my tires every 5000 miles and keep them at 44 psi.
