Pleasant surprise. I finally got my act together and had money and all papers to take to the Muskogee County Sheriff's Department to get turned in and fingerprinted yesterday.
My wallet was open and the deputy saw my VA id and asked if i was a veteran. I replied yes. She said the Sheriff said to waive the 25 dollar fee for any veterans and teachers. Cool. :yelclap:

I figure to 'pay it forward' and give to thier breast cancer awareness drive they have each year.

I may not agree with everything our sheriff does but....
After reading on here about problems other people have around the state........Well, here's one for the plus column.

When I applied, my then-sheriff, Roland Hula, a retired OHP captain, came out and personally went over the paperwork with me to make certain that all was in order. The only problem I had was with the fingerprints, as they kept getting smudged, and were unreadable. Finally, I went over to Ponca City PD and they did them on their scanner.

Kudos to Ponca City PD, as they did not charge me for taking the prints.

Yeah, if you go to the OK County Jail downtown to get you finger prints done on their scanner - be sure the prints are good before you leave! When I had mine done they were taken by a blonde gal, she knew how to do it correctly. There was a guy waiting to get his done - for the third time - because he kept getting the brunette that the blonde said ALWAY screwed them up.

I think that same blonde or another one did mine too. That was 2003, so she would be fully grown by now.
