A few more shots from this weekend. Hunted pretty hard this weekend. Still getting tuned in with the camera. Getting closer though. No edits on these other than cropping.

Great pics again, about how far are the birds from the lens?

It is a 55-200mm lens and all of the better pictures are of geese that are locked up in the decoys. The bird in this picture was about 10 yards max. I nearly over exposed this picture. Thus the brighter skyline behind it.

I really really enjoy taking pictures. The new camera made me realize how much I enjoy taking pictures.

FFL,
I recently picked up a D5100 with same lens kit and I love it although I haven't had time to take it out yet. Just curious if you are using manual controls or some of the dial settings? Great pics.

I am using the manual setting. Most of these picture are on the M setting where you can control the shutter speed, ISO, and F-stop. The pre set sports/action mode is far to conservative to catch a good action picture I think. With early morning and late evening you will constantly be changing the M setting to keep up with the gaining of/Loss of light.

Thought I would add my feathers from this week. Hunted two half days, unfortunately didn't get the first days haul. This is just from this morning. Pheasants and Chukars in central KS.

Finished off my season today with a few greaters. Really nice to put some big goose breasts in the freezer on the last weekend.
