There is some truth to this. Working at a fast food joint for minimum wage is not going to give a family enough money to pay for rent and child care/food/utilities.

There is a way around this, and the Hispanic familys know how its done.

I had a rental house for several years. We rented to a hispanic couple with two kids. Rent payments were always on time, and payed in cash. Before it was all said and done, that 1000 sf house had 11 people living in it. I had to raise their rent as they usage of the rental went up twice, but they never argue'd.

They have it figured out. Its kind of like a mini comune from the 60's. One group takes care of the kids, others cook/clean, and the rest work for wages.

I wont "fix it for ya" but "its kind of like a mini commune from the 1860's. One group takes care of the kids, others cook/clean, and the rest work in the feilds".

If you want to quote history, the original pilgrams were a socialist society that failed.
But yes, its all the same concept. They have all failed as no matter if there were "workers" or "Moochers" there was always the lazy folks that screwed it up.
thats why it been called the idealistic society as long as I've been alive. Works in theory, but fails in reality.

Yep, i think eventually our society will fail too. Historically all great ones have. But i look at it this way. Look how many people died in vain to protect slavery. Or how many suffered and struggled during the days before Teddy R dismantled the monopolies.

How many people got their heads cracked or died during the civil rights era, or protesting a unpopular war? All because we were split in our idealolgies.

I agree we have too many ppl on gov help, but the government is the process for fixing our problems. Businesses aint gonna change unless the government makes them. Attitudes need to change or ya aint gonna sit at the bargining table. It'll be crammed down some throats, thats how we got Obamacare.

I totally disagree with that statement and the concept behind it. The Soviets thought the same thing. Everybody works for the government. Anybody see how that went?

The Government is what got us into this precipitus situation that the US resides in now. This country can come back to greatness, but it can't with the bow down apologies platform that we are currently following.
The World is not only laughing at us, but now mocking us.

Modest tax increase for the wealthy blah, blah, blah. This "solution" will run the country for an estimated 6 days. Big deal! It's so stupid it's ridiculous. Until everyone decides to grow up and cut entitlements, it's just blowing smoke. Guess who brought in record revenues? The hated George W - by giving tax breaks. It's simple economics - tax job creators more, and they hire less and/or lay people off. What is the net gain out of that? We're already seeing it across the country (layoffs). Now, sequestration and the expiration of the Bush tax cuts (unless some miracle happens in the next few weeks)

Shhh.... They're on a roll, those dims. No amount of logic, truth and facts are going to convince them otherwise. Our government is broken beyond repair and needs a hard boot or master reset. I'm getting more and more convinced that the only thing that will get through to the 51% or whatever that voted for 4 more years of the exact same is stark reality hitting them upside the head. They won't listen and they are just going to have to learn it the hard way like a hard headed teenager. The sooner the better. I saw in a sig line from someone who is quite wise that said that "bleeding is merely the first step in healing". I don't mean to belittle those in NJ and NY their suffering, but some that I have seen on the tube are a perfect example. I've seen several in the last few days that have stated that they are "on our own" and they are quite resentful that the government isn't helping them. A little part of me wants to say "Really? You had days, not hours, but days of warning. You were told what was going to happen and told to GTFO. Yet you stayed? You had made no preparations whatsoever (I've seen several interviewed that didn't even have 2 days worth of bottled water much less some emergency food rations). And yet you stayed? It's been less than two weeks and you're pissed that you've had to take care of yourself? For two weeks? Really?" Being in OK and none of us are strangers to disaster with tornadoes, fires and floods. We all hate to see their true suffering, but a small part of me has little sympathy. The ones I'm talking about are of the opinion that the government is supposed to come in and take care of them, that they have no responsibility for themselves, I guess being taxpayers they expect these things. Like I said the system is broken...

Obamaphone? What the heck happened to using a pay phone anyway?

Did the "record revenues" the product of an accounting gimmick, counter balance the two unfunded wars, because I'm pretty sure they didn't.

If anybody had a satiracle point of view, this situation would be a great candidate for a good parody. Bush saddled us with two un-funded mulitrilion dollar wars, but Obama gave away free basic cheap out-moded cell phones to po' folk. Funny. Lets throw that in the ballance and see how it works out. Laugh Out Loud !

Squandered greatest budget surplus in the history of the United states. They certainly believed it was the biggest surplus, it was the entire rational for the tax cuts in the first place. Reagan proved deficits dont matter. Remember?
