I wanted to add that Foscam security cameras are the real deal.

You can set them up pretty easily on your home network and it'll constantly capture images and save them to a hard drive, if you're interested in that. It constantly streams live video to a web address (your ip) that you can access anywhere you have an internet connection, and you can even access it from your iPhone. It has a feature to notify you on motion and will email you 5 shots and let you know which camera seen motion immediately.
