Is he related to Red Green? If so then that answers a lot. Unless I’m missing something I believe that the ODWC is the only ones who have authority to change the wildlife regulations. So he can go suck an egg.
If the Legislature passes this dude’s bill and the governor signs it, it won’t matter what ODWC wants to do because the Oklahoma Statutes override any regulations from any state agency.

You might want him to go suck an egg, but if you don’t tell your legislator and state senator what you want, it just might be ODWC and Oklahoma deer hunters who end up sucking that rotten egg.

Oklahoma has excellent genetics and the resources to grow larger deer. Believe it or not some people actually understand this! Shooting 2 and 3 year old bucks doesn't get you where we need to be. Having said that I have done it many times before, but that was before I knew better. Grant Green was leaned on by many hunters that have seen the benefit of a one buck state and harvesting more does. All the "meat hunters" whining about I have limited time or making whatever excuses for shooting dinks and babies and not having opportunities need to learn to budget their time and life better. I have learned that most guys that think they have seen a 7-8 year old buck have not. They sure think they have but they haven't. Does are in every inch of the state so if you want meat there you go! Shoot one of those instead of your basket rack 1-1/2 year old that absolutely can turn into a booner buck. Having said all that, I shot two bucks over 160 again this year and loved every bit of it! Took a couple does as well. But if it goes to one buck, Ill be just fine with it.
That makes me want to shoot the first two six points I see next year. Always pisses me off a handful of people trying to decide what everyone else should do. It’s my tag and I’ll shoot what I want

This is it, shoot the deer you want! I’ll never put someone down over their trophy and might even be more excited than you are. Always enjoy seeing what folks get no matter what it is.
When folks around you start shooting those .30 cal crossbows in October why would I be alright with limiting myself one buck?
@dennishoddy I’ve heard talk about having a permit to shoot who knows how many does because there are so many in the area so why not make that a doe only zone?Doesn’t make any sense.
There’s no magic pill, no one answer to this problem that I didn’t know existed.
I haven’t shot a buck in two years so maybe I should get six next year to even out the heard over here and do my part. Good grief.

So what you’re proposing is that a lifetime license holder could potentially have different hunting privileges than a person that actually owns the land?
A resident lifetime lic gives resident privileges for the remainder of their life regardless if they stay a resident or not. Land ownership does not give the land owner resident privileges, land ownership does not make the land owner a resident.
I bought my kids lifetime combo lic and my wife a lifetime fishing lic( she has never fished a day in her life and doesn’t plan on it, she’s Hindu. But it would help avoid a ticket if we were all on the same boat and she grabbed a fishing pole for some reason). I would feel kind of cheated if they reduced my privileges. I’m not saying I’m against doing what’s best for preserving hunting and fishing for the future in Oklahoma, but I bought and paid for all my tags till I die. I’m glad they included the bear tag to lifetime lic holder privileges, but I was not opposed to having to buy one if they didn’t include it.

Brother, you’re preaching to the choir.🤣
I own land and pay Oklahoma property taxes just like you, but I paid over $800 in license fees in 2024 to hunt and fish on my own place.
I was just texting with a friend, and I figured up that since 2003 I’ve killed a grand total of 25 deer in Oklahoma and spent approximately $10,400 on deer licenses plus more on annual hunting, waterfowl, turkey, and fishing licenses.

Could get a good bit of angus for that price.
