Has everyone contacted their senator about this bill? Session starts Feb 3. Called mine twice already and got no answer. Left message both times. Will call every day starting Monday until I speak with a living being. Everything I have found says the wildlife department set season and bag limits. This would set a bad precedent if manages to pass.
I am tomorrow.

I’ve shot a TON of does but always looked for the next biggest buck every year. We don’t shoot dink bucks. I went 9 years at one time without taking a buck because nothing showed up bigger than the last one I killed.
My freezers were always full though.
This is my philosophy. I don’t have to shoot a deer to enjoy the hunt. I bow hunt 99% of the time. I have several nice bucks on the wall. Each one is bigger than the previous one. Does get shot for the freezer.

On our place we try to manage for big bucks. So do our neighbors. We see lots of bucks that “need one more year”. Sometimes we see those deer in the future sometimes we don’t. I passed on a really cool 9 point with a drop tine one year because he was a younger buck. Shot a really nice buck the next weekend. We kept seeing the drop tine 9. The next year I saw him again 2 separate times but never had a shot. The next year my dad had him broadside at 17 yards the last weekend of archery season. The deer still had 9 points but his mass had increased significantly. I forget the exact measurements but it was in the low 160s.

I really don’t care if they go to a 1 buck limit or leave it as is. I will still pass on bucks smaller than what I have on the wall.
