Like I said. Its not about the firearms training for me. Cops already receive that and sda class isnt really that anyway. Its in depth training on the sda class. And pay the fee. Not all cops fully understand the sda law so it is not too much to ask them to go through the class on it. Then pay the fee like everyone else.

Using extensive firearms training as a bypass excuse just proves that u dont understand what the bulk of the class is about. The Firearms law not firearms use training. The 50 rounds is not to turn u into a competition shooter. Just to assure u know how to safely operate the functions of the firearm.

I used to teach conceal carry classes with a retired police officer and Doug Friesen, so I'm pretty sure that I know what the SDA class covers and doesn't cover.

Thanks for proving my point. Even you, someone who has taught the class on the very law in question, has to have a permit to carry. Then so should the officer who deals with an array of legal issues every day but doesn't fully understand this particular law.

Not every LEO in the state knows and understands the SDA law. I had a discussion at church and had to pull up SDA act on my phone to show an OSBI agent Trooper and OCSO officers that yes you can leave your firearm in your car at general gov building parking lots. They didn't know the law and should have to go through the SDA class to carry under the SDA.

AND Pay the Fees.

I'm not real sure how I made your point, but I'm sure you will enlighten me ... And aren't you special?? Edumacating all the dumb LEO like you do ... I'll be sure and have GC get with you so you can teach him the finer points of SDA law ...

Dude, when does your period end? Man ... What part of "neither one of us is interested in open carrying we just found this funny" are you not picking up on?? I've got some extra Midol laying around here ... Sounds like you need it a lot worse than I do.

And with that I'm going back to the football game ...

I just don't see a prob with asking LEO to get the same permit as everyone else for off duty carry. Open or concealed either one. Since they haveuch superior firearms training they can skip the 50rounds sure. I just dont see whats odd about them still having to purchase the permit. I mentioned earlier, game wardens still must purchase a hunting license dont they. So i think it makes complete sense that LEOs purchase permit for any off duty carry. Wouldnt bother me if they had to purchase the permit to carry concealed too. Not a big deal that they dont but wouldnt find it offensive if they did either.
