What is the status in Oklahoma in regards to open carry on private property. Specifically on the farm or minifarm. We may be moving to Oklahoma and would like to know what the law concerning OC is. You all have been very helpful in answering my questions concerning CCW in Oklahoma on a previous thread.

You need a "legitimate reason" to open carry on your own property.

I don't think there's a DA in their right mind who would try to prosecute you for OC on a farm, but you might check with your new DA first ;)

http://www.oscn.net/applications/OCISWeb/deliverdocument.asp?citeid=38162 <-- Pierce -vs- State, which is what is being referred to.

So I come home, and take my shirt off, and my carry gun becomes visible I become a criminal? But not at my business?

P.S. As far as farms go - varmint control is as legit as it goes.

I don't think you were/are breaking the law if it is land you own or lease (hunting lease is not exempt). You don't even have to have a hunting license to hunt your own land. (page 13 of the Oklahoma hunting guide) And you sure don't have to have a fishing license to fish your own pond.
