I think that open carry will cater to the criminals as well as the law abiding citizens, the criminals will also open carry which will make it harder for the law to make a determination on who to take down

There might be a few gangsta wannabes who'll carry on the street to show off, but keep in mind that these are already the people who carry concealed all the time without a permit. And they'll keep doing that no matter how many times they go in and out of jail.

If that were going to happen, it would have been a problem in the 43 other states that have it.

But...

But...

We OKIES are different. We're all a bunch of drunken readnecks just itchin' for a shoot out and our criminals are exceptionally stupid and viscious. Why else would so many of our beloved and dear leaders in the legislature be agin' open carry. We're obviously less responsible, law abiding and way more stupid and violent than the citizens of other states. We must be controlled. That's what is best for all of us.

Seriously: I truly don't get why any of our legislators - especially those that claim to be pro 2A would be against open carry considering that we are 1 of only 7 states out of 50 that don't have OC laws in one form or another. Toss in states like VA, NH, VT, AZ, UT, and AK where OC is essentially unrestricted and there are no problems with it and one must absolutely wonder why those people in the legislature think we are different.

I e'mailed Ms. Tibbs with this very question a while back. No response was ever received. Maybe I got her email address wrong. Yeah - that's the ticket. Why else would a responsible legislator not respond to the query of a citizen? Oh right. We're not citizens. We're subjects.

I think I am already getting emails from you all, which is good!
Assuming OC does not pass this time (and I am really hoping it does), it may be helpful to get a list of all politicians who are up for re-election in
2012 who the ok2a rates as obstacles to OC. Also, a list of their opponents would be helpful. This way we can target contributions during the 2012 election cycle where they will make the most impact.
Speaking only for myself, I would like to contribute to folks who are pro OC who can displace the current lot of scoundrels in office holding up OC.
A bit of legwork in producing such a list would be very helpful IMHO.

Especially when most of these yahoos are talking from both sides of their mouth. If they have autored a bill for OC at any time, i think I might believe they are actually for it but not even then do I 100% believe them. Its a game man, I'm tellin ya and Its very eye opening if you get involved enough to see some of the shenanigans they pull. I am just really seeing this for the first time this year.

I doubt that. They will still carry theirs concealed because most of them have records and illegal guns.

We should clarify that, in our society and by our laws, an armed man should be treated as a citizen until he does something illegal.

A guy with baggy pants, lots of tats, and a backwards hat with a glock stuck in his waistband isn't necessarily a bad guy until he does something illegal or stupid. The only crime he has committed at that point is piss poor fashion sense.

A guy with a gun clearly displayed under OC is no criminal, and is not a criminal activity. It gives no preference over either. To think it does is the bleating of a sheep. If a man were criminal enough to rob a bank or murder someone in broad daylight, it doesnt' matter if you can see the gun beforehand.

You seem to represent OK2A.

Please explain why y'all supported the OC bill that required one to believe they were in danger to be able to OC.

Eagerly awaiting your response.
