Surgery went well I guess, I barely remember bits and pieces after around 10 this morning. Apparently I went into Sam's w/my wife, and ended up leaned up against the shelves going to sleep while pushing the cart 🤣. Made it home around around 5, sit down in my recliner and woke up again around 7. Definitely a big chunk of the day missing!
Lucky your wife helped you home.

The stories we could make up and you wouldn't know the difference. 😁 😁 😁
Glad everything went well Clint. Just imagine that is pretty much how the druggie's spend their life in a complete fog.

Good evening folks,

It’s been a hectic few days. My mom fell Sunday at her house and broke her femur just above her knee. She has been in the hospital in Joplin since Sunday. They had to do surgery Sunday night. They inserted and screwed 13 inch steel rod to her broken femur.
She will be totally non weight bearing for 8 to 12 weeks and the doctor said maybe 8 to 12 months before she will be able to walk without assistance.
The problem we are having now is finding a rehab facility that either takes her insurance or has room for her. It’s not an easy thing to find. But she has a good case worker that is helping us out a lot. My wife is still up there with her. I had to come back to work and I have to be in Dallas this weekend for work so she has been such a huge help with my mom.

When something like this happens, it really changes everything. All of our lives will be a lot different for the next year probably due to the care she will need but we don’t mind. The important thing is that she heals and gets back to her home.

Sorry for blabbering. It’s just a new road for us.

Hope everyone had a great Wednesday.

Oh WOW!! I'm glad the surgery went well. And you guys are in my prayers. I hope they find her a spot soon and you guys can find your new rhythm. When I got hurt the first couple of weeks when neither of us knew what we were doing, were gonna do or how to even manage it were the worst. After that we kinda hit our rhythm, for lack of a better term, found a routine that worked for us and things were IMMENSELY better going forward.

Thats a big, bad bone to break. Rehab is going to be a LONG time as you have been told.
We have spent the last 6 years going through what you're getting ready to experience with the FIL in dementia and MIL in heavy assisted living.
The rehab centers want their money in advance. When MIL passed a few months ago, we are still fighting with them to get that money back they owe us as she passed on the second day of the month. We were 100 miles away making the trip to Broken Arrow at least once a week to visit and wife making nightly phone calls. In the last few months, she didn't know we were even there, but it made my wife know she had done her responsibility to care for the one that brought her into this world. At the end, we stayed with her for three days and nights, finally having to go and sleep somewhere other than a chair. She passed while we were gone, but one of the rehab nurses sent my wife a note that she was there when she passed, so she wasn't alone, and offered a side note that I won't publish that was amazing as it was personal.
Dancer, you have a rough time coming. I don't envy you or your wife for the future.

I just HOPE all went to plan, been waking up every hour tonight, ended up sleeping in my chair which is unusual for me. Swollen quite a bit more, and hurting some. Just took some more of the anti-nausea meds and ibuprofen they gave me, see if I can get some more rest.
I hate being miserable after surgery, you know it's gonna happen for at least a short period. We all just hope the outcome is better than the alternative of not getting it done in the long run.

Praying for a good outcome with your mom. It sounds like she has a great son and DIL that will do everything they can for her. I went through a similar situation a few years back. It’s a life altering situation for all involved. Hopefully she will recover quickly and get back into her home and keep her independence.

I’ve lived with back pain/sciatica whatever for several years, but I must’ve done something while working yesterday that pinched a nerve or something. I have a shooting pain from my lower back (right side) through my groin and down my right leg, and when it shoots, my leg tries to buckle.
I’m leaving for my place up there tomorrow and at this point, I think the 8 hours in the truck would not be enjoyable. My wife made me an appointment for noon at the Airrosti Rehad Center to see if they can help.

I hope y’all have a great day!!! :thumb:
