The only things I can think of I own that’s 3D printed is some wrench organizers and let me tell you…….I would pay double what these cost. The company is called Toolganizer if you wanna see their offerings. I will include before and after pictures of my wrench drawer below. The ones that are orange in color are the good ones. It’s plain to see how much room I gained and each slot has a size marking. I need to get some more made for more wrenches.

These are on the list as well, my son just bought a big tool box and is on me to do these, sockets, screwdrivers, you name it.

I just built 6 rock handled steak knives in a lapidary shop.
Brought a walnut tree section from our yard to build a case for them in the woodwork shop to keep in our RV.
The plastic tool holders that @Cowcatcher has caught my eye. A folding case like that might be more practical than a wooden one that gets all scuffed up.
I can use the wood for other projects. So, to the OP, that’s another idea for something practical to build.

Great idea! I'm working on designing them now.
