Pentagon police officer dead in stabbing

I don't know any more than the news story says and I will hold my questions until more information comes out (if it ever does).

Story says a Pentagon police officer was stabbed to death at a transit stop in Arlington, Virginia, this morning but quotes the Pentagon police chief as saying "gunfire was exchanged and there were several casualties."
Associated Press reported the officer was one of at least two victims in the bloodshed.
Local F.D. reported "multiple patients" at the scene.
"Multiple outlets" say the suspect is deceased.
Incident is being investigated by the FBI.
