If he was to try and discuss point by point in a calm manner, then Piers would talk over him, and he'd eventually have to resort to "filibustering" anyway.
This is one reason why this format of an "interview" is one I never watch, regardless of whether it's Piers or Limbaugh.
It's just a verbal boxing match, with the "winner" being the one who can talk over the other one the most.
