ok,i'm prolly the last person to buy a pikepass, just never needed one much. so, its the sticker type. does it have to be stuck to the window to work? or can i just tape it on and move from my truck to the wifes car if we need? also,if i'm hauling a trailer do i need to go through the toll booth to pay the difference or will the all knowing eye in the sky detect it? maybe stupid questions but just thinking bout it.

I read one time that about 30% of the users tried what you are asking and it didn't work. The state had to issue another one. We have two and I just put them where the instructions stated. You can't see them from inside the car and so it's no big deal to me..Now for the trailer question. We pulled a fifth wheel lots of times and the turnpike people told us to call ahead and let them know so as they could charge us more..Never called and never got charged more..I would not go through the booth..

They just add the additional pike pass to your account. The only thing that happens is that it pulls money out of your acct faster if you're both driving on toll roads separately. When the acct gets down to $15 it flashes the orange "low acct" when you drive through the toll booth. No biggie, you just call 'em or go online and add $ to the acct. I usually just add $25 since I don't do a ton of highway driving and that lasts me awhile. On hauling a small trailer, I've always just gone through the automatic reader.

Just get online at https://www.pikepass.com/, set up an account, register another vehicle and they will send you another one. The last few times I stopped at a toll both they told me not to worry about it unless I pulled the trailer all the time. I never stop now. I wish they would give the sticker ones for motorcycles, they sent me that big honking plastic one for my bike. You can also pay it online, and it is almost instant.

My wife tried it with some extra velco strips like the old ones used. It will not register. Cop pulled mr over for blowing thru one. For some reason she thought the instructions did not apply to her. We have two vehicles and two pikepasses she just felt the need to be rebellious.

Here, but occasionally There.
We occasionally tow our fifth wheel as well. Since they went to the sticker system, they told us to just get online prior to using the Pikepass with the trailer and change our status from 2 axles to 4 axles. When we get back home, the wife gets back online and changes back to 2 axles.

Since we have a laptop and a Verizon MiFi, we can even be on the road and get online.
