I personally believe it is immoral to forcefully limit another person's freedom of choice, whether or not they choose to hurt themselves. Them abusing that freedom and causing harm to others is entirely on them.

I disagree. If they hurt no one it is another matter.

I have tried very hard not to discuss the morals of some of you wanting to enable self destructive behavior in others, just so you can get high. :D :D

RickN, you were no angel in those days, so you should not be finger wagging the young crowd on this issue.

I was far from an angel but learned from my mistakes and helped bury several people that made those same kind of mistakes.

Well, at $350 an ounce, I suspect several of the current generation are going to be buried in pauper's graves...

True, and the morals comment was aimed at someone who likes to say that disagreeing with legalizing drugs is somehow immoral. To me that ranks right up there with saying it is racist, just another load of BS.

Assuming your $350/oz number is accurate (it's likely not)...

Most pot smokers smoke only 1-2 joints/week. An ounce will yield ~40-50 joints for most smokers (provided it's not ditch weed)... so $7-$10/joint. That basically a fast food meal or two each (well, three if you count the munchies).

Even assuming it only lasts some smokers a month, I know *many* people who spend more than $350/month on cigars or Scotch. Some of them would consider marijuana an even cheaper therapy session than a 2 hour cigar.

That's a very apples and oranges comparison. Racism is a hard and fast concept. Morals are not a hard and fast concept.

Well, I'm running off what I saw on CNN last week related to Colorado's legalization of recreational marijuana use. $350 was the high end, but all of it seemed extremely expensive to me; a complete and total rip-off.

Prices have also doubled in Colorado due to short supply compared to demand. In 3 months, prices should be back to normal.

I'll give the benefit that CNN likely actually checked prices in a shop. Usually, people throw out high numbers thrown out by law enforcement agencies who seem to think that the ditch weed they confiscated has the same market value as purple kush.

Also, most people are probably buying retail in 1/8's or 1/4's.

It's all very ridiculous. In the 1970s a lid measuring five fingers sold for $20. People are being skinned alive in Colorado.

The main reason MJ is illegal in Oklahoma is because Oklahoma is knee deep in morality.

Sent from my tappytalk, at the casino, gambling, getting drunk, smoking Kools and praying Valleybrooks titty bars are open when i get out of here. And buy my lottery ticket on the way home as well.
