Eric Smith is coordinating the full legalization petition signature drive and can be reached at [email protected]. He will be conducting a training in filling it out correctly in OKC this Saturday, and will upload same to the website along with a training video. Thanks for your interest. The petition is alive and well and circulating.

connie johnson is messaging people on facebook, saying the full legalization petition is still going, and has 90 days to gather signatures.

Yes but if you look at okmla.com, they're saying that she still hasn't released it. And as the sole sponsor she's the only person who can publish it, so that volunteers can run around getting signatures.

A second marijuana petition found its way to Durant this week following the recent presence of a medical marijuana petition last week in the city.

This week, citizens can not only sign the petition for the legalization of medical marijuana to go for a vote of the people in November but also one for recreational use.

The new petition for voting on recreational use began July 21 and was spearheaded by Vicki Gaylor. Gaylor is an independent running for the Oklahoma Senate District Six seat against incumbent Josh Brecheen and Democratic candidate Joe Hill.

Pianalto said the petition signature drive is going well and she believes the group has collected approximately 80,000 signatures. The group has a website and can be found on Facebook at Oklahomans For Health.

“Two weeks ago we had 75, 000 signatures, a little under half way,”Pianlto said. “We've been doing really good the last two weeks and our teams got 500 last night. We have got two pages (approximately 40) so far in Miami, and we have only been at the booth for less than two hours.”

In the United States the states are not so united, with wildly opposing laws. While Colorado has legalized commercial sales, just across the border in Oklahoma a law was recently enacted including life imprisonment for possession of hashish, a grinder, or brownies. Recreational sales topped $14 million during the first month in Colorado and medical sales generated even more state revenue. Colorado expects to take in over $180 million in tax revenue during the first eighteen months of their program.

Meanwhile states like Oklahoma continue to enact harsher laws to fill their already over-crowded sub-standard prisons. In a recent Oklahoma case, Patricia Marilyn Spottedcow, a mother of four, received a twelve year prison sentence for her role in the sale of $39 of herb to an undercover informant.

Many observers have long noted US law enforcement’s use of marijuana laws as a tool to discriminate. While marijuana use rates are equal among races, the rate of incarnation is many times higher for visible minorities.

Because Connie Johnson, the filing proponent has removed her name from the initiative petition and no one can circulate it without her permission, as she's the one who filed it. Short answer: Connie Johnson is a liar. Recreational marijuana is not going to happen until a citizen files the initiative petition. A process that can be started as soon as we have the total vote count from this year's gubernatorial election, 15% of that is the required number of signatures. Connie Johnson simply used this as campaign propaganda to get elected in the primaries for a US senate seat. Either that or someone threatened her if she didn't let it die? Regardless of the underlying cause, she's letting it die because she's worried about her political career.
