I'm the old lady in the neighborhood who has chickens and gives away eggs, grows veggies and shares with her neighbors and likes to play in the dirt and love on her critters (especially right before she butchers them). Each has an image. For me your a prepper until SHTF, then you become a survivalist.
But then, i hate labels anyway. Im part farmer, part rancher, part gun nut, part socialist, liberal, conservative, moderate, anti drama, part cook, dishwasher ect.

I am a survivalist. I am not very prepared for a major catastrophic event but i plan on surviving one. I will loot, and pillage in order to survive. I will be the guy who scurries around the city half naked, skinny, and with thin hair looking for a way to kill you and take your supplies.
Im picturing "Shmegal" or "Golem" from Lord of the Rings.

Always preparing until we have to survive. Once it comes down to survival all bets are off.
Sounds like you are, or think you will be, exactly the kind of guy I am preparing for.
On topic, survivalist is what we used to be called. Prepper is the new buzz word. Sounds a little less intimidating to the general population. I am a prepper who is bent on survival.
