I just loaded up about 500 rounds that I had pre-primed back in 1994 and stored in plastic MTM Case-Guards. These were then boxed in a cardboard box along with a bunch of other reloading stuff and stored in a not-so-climate controlled basement in Iowa. Also in that box was a box of large pistol primers and a cardboard 1/4 can of Unique powder which I stuffed in the before mentioned pre-primed cases and topped off with some bullets cast in 1967. Every round fired as if they were loaded with fresh components. I was amazed.I would post a pic of the primer box if this thing would let me, but its a box of 1000 winchester large pistol primers with a price tag marked $11.95 Now you know thats old.

I'll prime cases that might set for a few weeks or a few months sometimes. I place in ziplock bags and label what caliber/primer they are. I've never had an issue. My primarily reason for doing so is the high volume prarie dog shooting I do. When you want to load 500-1k of a particular load and the cases are prepped and primed it goes real quick. Spend all winter getting ready for every springs shoot.
