Veg, you young autodidact ************, I have no doubt that you and Ms.Bookworm can educate your children at home.
You aint everybody.

No, we're not everybody. But why should the "liberals" take away our right to choose what source of education is best for our children? That's on the same level of absurdity as "conservatives" wanting to force public schools to teach creationism as if it were science and treat the theory of evolution as if it doesn't meet the minimum requirements to be considered even scientifically plausible.

Not to discredit the article in the least, but this has been going on for at least 15+ years.

And iggy, the home schooled kids I've known that couldn't compete strongly with their public educated peers in most any academic subject have been the exception.

And I've known a few.

We're on the same page, Brian.

In this day and age why would you NOT want to homeschool your children? Public schools are institutions of indoctrination and degeneracy. The quality of education is improved somewhat at a private school but degenerate peers are still around. With homeschooling you can teach your kids things they actually will need to know, you can surround yourself with other like minded parents, and you will know at all times where your children are. Pervert teachers are becoming more frequent as well.

Take it from me, as someone who went to public schools K-12, don't send your children to a public school!

And not exposing your children to the degenerate peers teaches them how to deal with them later how? Eventually even home school kids have to get jobs and actually produce something. I have known far more home schooled kids that couldn't function in actual society than those that were successful. In fact, the successful ones would have been successful regardless of their schooling.

Guys, all I'm saying is that if a kid doesn't begin to read before puberty it becomes almost impossible to do so.
I've had freinds who have begged me to teach their kids to read because I live in a house full of half-read books.
Uhhh... so they're grasping at straws
And I have Zero love for the E.ed's of this world. I think I already said that.

Really...

Your last line works both ways, not a strong debate point.

The line about exposing your kids at a young age to degenerate peers being a way of preparing them has got to be one of the most tired, foolish arguments against home schooling used.

I won't argue with that. It becomes an act of sheer willpower on the learner at that point. You can't force them to learn once they've got a will of their own.
