I actually got a job as a systems engineer because the hiring manager knew I had a CCW. That is the exception though. Seriously, don't go there. Most people are freaked out by that. Then again if the hiring manager starts talking about duck season or going to Happy Hollow by all means go with your gut.

I work for a Fortune 10 Company so 95% of the time I don't mention anything to do with the Marines, Guns, Hunting, Politics etc. at work.

I would certainly mention it . Then I would proceed with my own interview of the HR guy doing the interview. What is your home address? How many children do you have ? Where do they go to school? What does your wife look like?

Be sure to mention various workers comp claims that you have had and make up a few civil court suits against former employers for descrimination in the work place .

This way they have to hire you or get tracked down at their home and the company will be sued. You are all the sudden the best applicant for the job.

Other strong points to mention
1. Let them know that you are not afraid to get the ACLU involved
2. Say " if I had a nickle for every time I contacted the Labor Board"
Good luck, remember you are the sheepdog of the herd.
