This has been enlightening. At first my gut was to side with the rancher. The more I look into it I realize that the rancher is in the wrong.

That being said; the idiocy that is these "first amendment zones" and the rights of the people to protest being denied by force is wrong. That is something I could stand up against.

Also, we shouldnt be surprised at the show of force from the government. Some of it is to intimidate, some of it is force protection for the impounding teams, and some of it is because they expect a fight, which seems to be where this is headed.

Ive been following this for a few weeks, the ranchers family has been free grazing on public lands since the 1800s, there is some dispute going on about being basically grandfathered in after the feds decided to save the desert tortoise which btw in 2013 they "humanely euthanized" a lot of them they were trying to save, because they couldn't afford the upkeep on their fancy tortoise saving facility. So here is where I stand. I don't care if the rancher is wrong or right, the actions and attitude of the BLM is disgusting and wrong and EXCUSE ME? Free speech zones? WTF?! Welcome to tyranny, this is a blatant case of it. Intimidation through force, flexing their sniper muscle over some ****ing cows and tortoises, whatever, this stinks to high heaven and personally I think the feds and their puppets enforcing and threatening people who have rightfully assembled should go straight to hell.
just an observation : it irritates me that everyone is calling them federal lands, they belong to the public, we are the public, If we would stand up and tell them to piss off instead of bowing down and saying yes master this **** wouldn't happen.

The Feds are out of control. They have established a "First Amendment" zone. Insane.

Yeah, I'm not getting all up in arms over that one. The same tactic has been used against people we don't agree with for decades. Funny that the internet 2nd civil war "Constitutionalists" are only getting upset about it because of this case.

I haven't followed this case much, but if he took it to court and lost years ago...then WTF is he still doing grazing where he was ordered not to?

This is a good question. From what I've heard he hasn't paid the BLM their grazing fees since 1993. He's been dragged into court several times since then and the BLM/State has won every time. Yet they've still let the situation "ride" for 21 years. Only when the BLM gets dragged into or under threat of litigation by some enviro-terrorists BLM decides to get off their duffs. Rancher dude is not lily white innocent by any means but if his cattle were doing "irreparable harm" to the environment I'm fairly certain the BLM would have acted long before now. I'm kind of thinking that BLM has been made into pawns in this deal. What a cluster****...

Wow! A government man through and through. I cannot condone the stifling of free speech, especially when the zone is a 4'x4' square that you must gain approval from law enforcement to enter. If the people stifle free speech, such as the Moore residents did last weekend, the stifling is acceptable.
