Buy the Lyman #49, ABC's of Reloading and Modern Reloading, 2nd Ed manuals for required reading. Then think about a class if you want.
this is why I was hesitant about a class. I don't mind paying for new knowledge but if I'm taught what's in the book. that's money I could use to find mystical 168 gr bullets haha.

I taught myself via books and youtube. It did help a lot having a friend that had been loading for 40 years to ask questions! It is not difficult as long as you are meticulous and only load when you not tired or impaired (alcohol, etc.). it is also important to not have any distractions. good luck; it is a lot of fun.

I just started reloading a few months ago. From my recent experience, I'd say start with 9mm and see how that goes first.

You can get a single stage kit from Lee for pretty cheap. I'd say go with a single stage first especially if you are going to reload 308 later on.

Lyman's is a really good investment but all the other books (not manuals) were not very helpful and I didn't get anything I didn't already got form youtube and forums.

My thinking was with the quick change bushings there is not a huge gain with a turret. But when full length resizing larger rifle cases you would want the strength of a O-type single stage press.

Never used a turret so this is purely based on internet research and my own logic (neither of which are known for being flawless).
