I think with Ruger producing this it makes the perfect little kit gun for the trail/survival. Combined with something like the 10/22 take down or similar style .22lr rifle it should make a better companion piece than the SR22 pistol. Unless Ruger screwed this up it should be more accurate than the SR22 pistol. Granted it is ugly, but if it performs as well as all the other LCR platforms she should be a winner. I would like to try one out, and then probably get one.

The one thing I would still put in a solid + category for the SR22 vs the LCRx22 is the threaded barrel. You can't suppress the revolver. For a pack gun, that would be a very nice feature.

That is a positive I didn't think about. I will be glad when suppressors/silencers are allowed to be purchased just like other firearm parts. Granted they will probably still have to be purchased the same way we purchase standard firearms, but all the other B.S. is exactly just that!!!

As far as a trail gun, I'm not really concerned about using or needing a suppressor. I'm not really out in the woods looking to take out sentries. I guess it would come in handy to harvest food without spooking the animal if your going after something small like squirrel's when there is more than one around, or something similar.

Butt ugly = YES. But they are the best snubbie revolver currently produced bar none. More modern design and materials. The trigger geometry is noticeably lighter than S&W J frames and the wear surfaces are nickel boron coated. I've owned 2 LCRs and both were lighter and smoother out of the box than my tuned 442. I was totally blown away with how well the LCR shot so I sold my 442 and the LCR replaced it. I sold the LCRs because I want the added capacity of an auto and knew if I kept it I'd carry it instead of an auto. I still wish I had one but my previous sentence prevents me from buying another. :screwy:
You talked yourself into a small hole there.

I bought a used LCR .22lr years ago -- The gun club I belong to, has rules that swinger targets need to be 25 yards from the target line (the target manufacture recommends the same distance), to hit my .22lr swinger at 25 yard shot with a 1.87" barrel is right up there with Bob Munden or Steve McGarrett. ( don't hit the swinger as much as I want to) but it a lot of fun, very heavy trigger. I sent Ruger, an Email, if they ever built an 3" LCR with a hammer, I would buy one. Enter LCRX; .22LR; 3 " barrel. Found a used one on Armslist, had to drive to Stroud to meet, but awesome firearm !!! Had to bottom out the rear sight screw, but still playing with it. haven't really tried the double action trigger, still working on the single action trigger, still pretty heavy.

Practice and patients, still lots of fun !!!
