Guys I posted this in the Militaria thread but haven't gotten any feedback about it. Hoping there's an expert on here that can tell me more about this knife.

Looks legit but be aware Nazi Party ceremonial daggers are one of the most faked things out there. Lots of Spanish made examples have been "aged" and marked and some are really really good. They're not as bad as Confederate equipment but still bad enough you really need to make sure you know what you're buying. Even "experts" have been fooled

That was a great read but still no info on how many were made by kitterman & moog and if they are considered rare. Thank you for your help in is much appreciated.

Contrary to popular belief by many not all German related WWII militaria or in this case NSDAP party items have detailed production records . You may be able to find that out but there also may not be production records for this company. As I stated above lots of faked Nazi Party items are out there . I've even witnessed people take genuine WWII issue items which would otherwise be quite valuable and apply eagles to try and boost the value . There was a gent at the last Tulsa show who had a mess kit cutlery set which had been so marked and it devalued the set. He knew it though and was very forthcoming about it .

Why is everyone talking about fakes? Does this dagger look like a fake? The story I got from the guy with the dagger is that it was picked up by his grandfather off the first dead German officer at Normandy on D day.
Stories are always great , did you get capture paperwork ? And yes its a well known fact Nazi ceremonial daggers are one of the most faked things out there. I have been collecting WWII related items for well over 30 years . If you don't believe me ask some well known collectors .

There is a lot of very informative articles by well known experts also , don't get butt hurt though because I am trying to be helpful
