It's a money/time question. If you want to grab a gun and shoot well straight out of the box for less money, go with the Mossy.

The Saiga can be a BEAST, but not without a little cash and time.

I've got a Defender 500 with a folding stock. I've also got a Saiga308. I don't know why, but I've got this real bad hankering for a Saiga12. I really like the pic of that Tromix conversion!

I agree with everyone. The Saiga is picky with ammo and could require even more work than just the conversion (blocked gas ports, etc.) but is fun! I wouldn't buy one in the city. I never found a good price on one. I bought mine in Dallas for $440. I hear they have went up $40 recently though.
