...all this fuss and the dad will end up sending his child back to the government schools. Get vouchers and get your children out of the government schools. Do that, and this will not be an issue at all

You can make anything normal to children.
Catch them young and program them early and often.
Let's put away the torches and pitchforks. It seems this is one teacher, in one classroom. Yes, it's wrong. And the district has pulled it, as they should. This is not a vast anti-gun conspiracy. If it shocks you that schools teach, from time to time, incorrect info you have not been paying attention. You ought to see what's in a science book.
This is not "one teacher in one classroom" but rather the one that got busted.
The teacher didnt write the lesson, its nationally published, and its probably a safe bet there are many more school using it.

Here is the actual worksheet in question. It blatantly interprets the 2nd amendment incorrectly and fails to mention the cases where the courts have uphelp private ownership.
AMENDMENT II
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
I fail to see how this, the second part of the sentence can even be argued as us not having the right to have firearms.
Richard Feynman had a whole chapter on his term as a textbook reviewer for California public schools in his autobiography, Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman. IIRC, he said that the board tried to approve a book that was just a cover with blank pages inside (because the book wasn't ready), and a surprising amount of the science in the science books was just flat out wrong--and he was, apparently, the only board member who was actually reading the books...You ought to see what's in a science book.

It's hardly surprising that factually incorrect crapola like that can make it into the classroom even if the teacher doesn't have bad intentions. It's good that they got called on it--but that's what parents should be doing on all subjects...
