CAUTION. All glass top electric ranges I know of tell you not to use cast iron on them. Of course you can still use CI in the oven (I hear corn bread calling), on the BBQ grill or side burner, wood stove, campfire or fire place, etc but be sure before using your glass top range.

I do anyway and have for about 12 years with no problem.

Lodge ware all the way.

Another side benefit of using cast iron is if your anemic. You'll get some added Iron in your food, which is helpful and not toxic at all.
Some studies show Aluminium and all of these non-stick chemicals we cook with are whats causing Dementia and lots of Cancers...

Last year, I heard an interview with a doctor who specializes in dementia/Alzheimer's, and she said they'd found no evidence of a link between 'loomnum and Alzheimer's. They'd thought there was something, but they found the same compound in the brains of people who didn't have dementia or Alzheimer's.

No kidding!! I was so excited when I found out there was a LeCreuset outlet at the mall ... THEN I saw the "outlet" prices ... :disappoin CorningWare's a good substitute ... lol

eBay is a good place to pick up LeCreuset. I bought my LeCreuset there and have been happy with it. Descoware is another good enameled cast iron and not quite as pricey.
