Adding a modern barrel to the BPS is a solid option and probably the direction I would go if you’re comfortable with and really like the gun.Still reading- I like the classic guns. Also, evaluating the reality of Not living close to good duck hunting like I used to.
Plus, many years ago we gave our son a Browning Gold for Christmas. He says I can use that if I wanted to hunt with an auto.
I’m almost leaning toward making my old BPS more modern….new barrel with Inv+ chokes, synthetic stocks, maybe a cerakote of receiver to dull the shine.
I appreciate the comments, no question that there are a lot of good guns out there, weighing out the reality of anticipated use vs cost.
They are very good guns and will last a lifetime. I would own one, except I am not sure I could ever get used to the safety being in front of the trigger. I have too many years of it behind or on the tang.Have Beretta A400 Extreme. Love this thing. Shoots great, not too heavy to carry/stand around in the field with. I got it on the recommendation of one of my buddies who's very knowledgeable on shotguns and he said Beretta makes about the finest semiauto shotgun on the planet. So far I'm very happy.
