Ha! I used to be the same way. Then I went to work in a machine shop that did EVERYTHING in metric. Blueprints, CNC programs, measuring tools, everything... The math is so much easier being a factor of 10. You'd also be amazed at how much aerospace is based in metric. Like, all of it? It's a simple matter to have the computer switch all the numbers to print out blueprints, but the design is done in millimeters.
Now I will still make a sailor blush when wrenching on a car and have to have two sets of tools.

Yep, how hard is it to multiply and divide by 10??? milli, centi, deci, m/l/g deka, hecto, kilo, slide your decimal left or right, and the number never changes, just the decimal placement....it's really that easy!
