Decided to go to the range today instead of the big show(will go tomorrow). Finally was able to get our Ruger American in .22 Magnum, and Super Wrangler also.22 mag sighted in.
50 grain Federal Game Shock, 8 round groups, standing, with Harris Bipod at 25 yards.
Scope, BSA 22 Special 4x32
Starting out the scope was way low and left of center
Groups 1& 2
Group 3, 4, & 5.
Group 6.
The opening of groups is on me, as I was rushing a bit. Groups 3, 4, & 5 were better. I am glad that Group six was finally in the center as it took 100 clicks to the right, and 60 clicks in elevation to reach center.
Ruger Super Wrangler using the .22 Magnum cylinder, it did not like the game shock 50 grain load at all, first group (red)was also low and left, leaving a fist size group.
Switched to the 45 grain Winchester semi jacketed hollow point load and without adjusting the rear sight the next group (green) was a little bit better.
Groups three and four (yellow) size shrank quite a bit and were the size of my thumb nail.
I plan on either switching out the front sight for a fiberoptic style, or painting the existing one a contrasting color to both the rear sight and the background.
More to follow as I am able to get out of the house.
