I like my Walther PPS, haven't found any reason to replace it.
If I did, I'd look at:
S&W 3953 or 3954 (if you like DA/SA, a 3913)
Bersa BP9CC (haven't seen one)
The Springfield EMP 9mm is a jewel, if money was no object I'd put it at the top of the list. They shoot as well as they look too.
Beretta Nano (haven't seen on)
Ruger LC9 (seen 'em, never fired one)
SIG P290 (haven't seen one)
Rohrbaugh R9 (seen 'em, never fired one)
H&K P7 (I've had P7 and P7 M8's. The P7 gets to hot to handle after 35 or so rounds so practice is difficult, the P7M8 fixes that but it's heavy - I replaced mine with the Walther PPS and have no regrets. A P7 is totally reliable.
Kimber Solo (haven't seen one)
KelTec PF9 (never fired one)
Kahr (several 9mm models, I've fired the CW9, didn't like it, shot the Walther PPS much, much better)

A great set of possibilities. Enjoy shopping.
What did I leave out?

Oh yes, SIG P239 good pistol, just a little big.
