At that range, the potential for accuracy is there but it's more difficult to achieve. The sight radius is longer with a longer barrel, so the chances you're lining up the sights correctly improve.
That's just my opinion; I'm a snubby fanatic but not necessarily a bullseye shooter every time.

we ring 10 inch metal targets at 40-50 yards for practice. my brother has a little 32 S&W I-frame that is just as accurate as our long barreled guns. it's a blast to shoot that little thing at that distance.

The inherent accuracy of a 2 inch barrel is basically the same as a 6 inch at the distance you're talking. Now, the usable accuracy is a different matter for most people.

Shorter sight radius, small to non existent sights, a small grip and in airweight form, pretty nasty recoil. All that makes it harder to shoot, but not less accurate.
