dlbleak,

I shoot a Weatherby SA-08 20 ga. and will give you a modified or full choke tube that will fit your barrel, so if you tear up the one that is stuck in your barrel, don't worry about it.

That’s a fine offer! Thank you. My son has purchased a Briley duck choke that we’d like to use. If the choke gets trashed, it’s not a big deal I guess. I just didn’t consider sacrificing the choke until yesterday.

The suggestions in this thread covered every trick I heard of and a few new ones on me.
I don't have any real suggestions but remembered the old saying "If it jams, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway."
Good luck OP.

Leave it alone, treat it like a fixed choke.

That's what we did before interchangeable chokes and adjustable chokes.

I am sure you need an excuse to buy a couple of more guns this year.

Got an ultrasonic cleaner (Harbor Freight $60). Set your barrel in your solvent, in the cleaner, bore right over the transducer spot in the center. Lyman makes a specific thin oil for ultrasonic use that would be my go-to for this.

Be careful with this. I had a small ultrasonic that I used to clean a stainless steel pistol slide. I couldn’t get the whole slide in at one time. I can now see a faint line where the liquid level crossed the slide in both directions. Oil covers it up, but it is there when the oil is rubbed off.
