Back:

"When you say 'radical right' today, I think of these moneymaking ventures by fellows like Pat Robertson and others who are trying to take the Republican Party away from the Republican Party, and make a religious organization out of it. If that ever happens, kiss politics goodbye." - Barry Goldwater

This is SO VERY TRUE. What's sad is that a lot of OSA members don't get this. It started with Robertson and Falwell and the Moral Majority and it has ended with Obama.

Until the Republican Party membership can break the stranglehold that the Religious Right has on it, the country will continue its slide.

I am a Christian, and although I'm a "little rough around the edges," I believe very strongly in Jesus Christ. As a Christian, my wish is that everyone would know the saving grace of Christ. As an American, I realize that many of my fellow countrymen do not share my beliefs. I respect the teachings of Jesus, particularly when He said, "Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's..." I take that to mean we should respect the law of the land. That law, embodied in our Constitution and Bill of Rights, provides for the separation of church and state. Unfortunately, the Republican Party membership has allowed religious extremists to co-opt the message of personal responsibility, small government, and adherence to our founding principles. These extremists are actually damaging our country by excluding moderates and non-Christians, driving these folks to the Democratic Party. These extremist bear a great deal of responsibility for the secularization of America. They are, in part, responsible for the very thing they fear and hate.

The future if our country is at stake. If the Republican Party doesn't get it together soon, it's over. Those of us in the "fly over states" will continue to be frustrated as we watch our country and our rights dissolve into grotesque caricature of a self-loathing liberal's wet dream.

I want one that says Molon Labe in old english. That, or arm the homeless. Rage against the machine fans will get that.

You know rage is a huge libtard group right? And at the time that song was written it referred to rising up against a successful prosperous nation and taking something that they never earned.

You sound awful enlightened, I here California is nice this time of year. /sarcasm off

That's the response I got in another thread when I pointed out the piss poor direction that the republican party is headed. And the effects it's had on Oklahoma with moral majority legislation. You'd think one of our flyover states could produce a fine blue dog candidate but sadly no, too many mindless republican zombies on the right complaining about the democrat mindless zombies on the left. A situation I would find comedically ironic if it just wasn't so damn tragic.

If you cant see the writing on the wall you are deluded.
