We "need" them because the 2nd amendment says we do.

"A well regulated militia, being NECESSARY to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

We need it to keep this country free. That's why.

So some say that we'll never need to worry about a tyannical government. Hummm, let's see gov health cars shoved down our throats, more and more of our income going to the gov than in our pockets, and they want to take our firearms...getting pretty close, I'd think.

Thanks CoachR64, your story should be told. As a fellow educator, I too am very concerned about the gun-free zone we work in. The current "gun control debate" which we all know is really a "preserve our liberty" debate should be taken advantage of as an opportunity to educate the uninformed. It certainly has enlightened me to the amount of ignorance the average person has about firearms and gun laws.
